About My Work

I’m a conceptual fine art photographer crafting narrative-driven imagery. Inspired by a curiosity for the human journey, my photography balances tangible reality with evocative abstraction. These themed bodies of work function as a form of personal inquiry into the notion of vulnerability, as shaped by my own lived experiences. Viewed as a whole, the work transcends traditional documentary photography, establishing a fragmented, intimate invitation into the raw architecture of our own being.

From Mid-Life to the Wild Unknown

I’ve been shooting the URBAN IRONY series for a number of years now. It all began with a curiosity for the life of corrugated iron, found in abundance among the back streets and alleyways of Melbourne, Australia. While walking these spaces during a time of intense mid-life reflection, it became apparent that the weathered nature of these iconic, versatile sheets contained a profound metaphor. The closer I looked, the more intriguing the abstract view became. A blend of colour, abrasion, and wrinkles of light and shade revealed a patina that was speaking to a mid-life search for identity, wisdom, and meaning.

An Inquiry into the Human Journey

My work explores seven distinct epochs of my life—periods that completely rewrote my view of the world. While these moments have passed, I’ve noticed through the years that all have left a profound mark on my most authentic self. They shape my identity as surely as the intensity of eyes, the contour of a nose, and the setting of a mouth shape a traditional portrait.
