Inspired by a curiosity for the human journey, my photography balances tangible reality with evocative abstraction. I create narrative, themed bodies of work that function as a form of personal inquiry, deeply influenced by my own lived experiences. Viewed as a collective whole, this work transcends traditional documentary photography and is formed by a fragmented, intimate style of self-portrait.
URBAN IRONY
I’ve been shooting the URBAN IRONY series for a number of years now. It all began with a curiosity for the life of corrugated iron, found in abundance among the back streets and alleyways of Melbourne, Australia. A mid-life saunter of the time gave cause for reflection on my own particular journey. It became apparent there was something metaphorical in what I was observing. The closer I looked the more intriguing the abstract view became.

on THEMES
My work explores themes identified as distinct epochs of life, where each has, at the time, overwhelmingly impacted my view of the world and my place in it. While these historical moments have come and gone, I’ve noticed through the years that all have left something profoundly influential within my most authentic version of self. They shape me as surely as the intensity of eyes, contour of nose and setting of mouth shape the conventional portrait.

Each image is meticulously produced on either Canson or Hahnemuhle fine art photographic papers by internationally renowned Melbourne post production studio, Final Grade, and their Master fine art printer.
